1. Who we are

Slipstream Pitlane ("Slipstream", "we", "us") is operated from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at pitlane@slipstream.org.uk, and email sent there reaches a person.

These terms form a contract between you and us as soon as you sign in to the Pitlane. If you do not accept them, do not sign in.

2. What Slipstream Pitlane is

The Pitlane is a members' area that reads motorsport data-logger files you upload and produces analysis from them. It supports Alfano 6 session exports, MyChron .xrk files from Race Studio, and RaceChrono .rcz exports. A Race Studio CSV export is stored but is not currently analysed.

Two reports are offered for credits: the Pitlane Brief (2 credits, £2) and the Full Debrief (3 credits, £3). No other report is for sale.

Slipstream is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any club, circuit, championship, timekeeper or manufacturer, and nothing it produces is an official timing record.

3. Membership and signing in

Membership is currently invite-only. We may decline or withdraw an invitation.

Signing in is passwordless. You enter your email address and we send a link that is valid for 15 minutes and can be used once. A successful sign-in sets a session cookie that lasts up to 30 days unless you sign out.

Because the link is the credential, anyone with access to your email account can access your Pitlane account. Keep your email secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.

One account is for one person. Do not share it.

4. Credits

5. Reports, and what they are not

Reports are computed automatically. The measurements are calculated by our engine and the priority on each card is selected by an explicit evidence rule, so the same session produces the same report. Reports are not hand-reviewed by a person before they reach you. Every report states this on its own face.

A report is an analysis of the data you supplied. It is not:

You remain solely responsible for how you drive and for the condition of your kart. Nothing in a report is a reason to exceed your own or your vehicle's limits.

The quality of a report depends on the quality of the file you upload and on what you declare about the session. Where the evidence does not support a conclusion, the report says so and names what stopped it rather than guessing.

If a figure in your report looks wrong, reply to the email it arrived with and a person will check it against your data.

6. Your data and your files

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a licence to store and process your files, setup sheets and notes for the purpose of running the service for you — producing your reports, keeping them available to you, and backing them up.

We use your files to serve you. We do not sell them. Where we use data to improve the service generally, we do so in a form that does not identify you, and never by handing your file to another member.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload another person's logger data without their permission.

How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy notice.

7. The Marketplace

Members may list a session on the Marketplace and earn credits when another member buys it.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Availability

The Pitlane runs on a single hosted instance. We aim to keep it available but we do not offer an uptime guarantee. It may be unavailable during deployments, maintenance, or because of a failure at our hosting provider.

We may change, add or remove features. If we withdraw something you have paid for and cannot supply a reasonable equivalent, you may claim a refund for the affected credits under the refunds policy.

We take backups of the members' database. Backups are a safeguard, not a promise: keep your own copies of your original logger files.

10. Suspension and ending your membership

You may close your account at any time by emailing us. Unused credits at closure are refundable only as set out in the refunds policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches §8, or where we are required to by law. Where we close an account for a breach that was not deliberate, we will refund unused purchased credits.

On closure, your files and reports are deleted in line with the privacy notice. Download anything you want to keep first.

11. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow it — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for:

Except where the law says otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

These terms cover consumers using the service for their own racing. If you use Slipstream for business purposes, the consumer protections in this section apply only to the extent the law requires.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you — the price of a credit, what a report includes, or your rights here — we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and you may close your account and claim a refund of unused purchased credits if you do not accept it.

The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date.

13. Complaints, law and jurisdiction

If something has gone wrong, email pitlane@slipstream.org.uk with your account email and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 working days.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own courts.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
